Project Felix (Formerly known as "Sponsor-a-Child Project through the CFCA)
Our Council sponsors a young man through the Christian Foundation for Children and the Aging (CFCA). The CFCA is a lay Catholic organization that creates relationships between sponsors in the United States and children and aging persons in 25 developing nations around the world. When someone becomes a CFCA sponsor, their semi-annual contribution provides life-changing benefits such as education, nutrition, clothing, and medical care to their sponsored friend. CFCA works with people in the Americas, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia.
The young man we sponsor is Mr. Felix Ramiro CabreraLópez. He is 15 years old (born 11 March 1993), and lives in Guatemala. He has graduated from the 6th grade at Maria Albertina school, where his favorite subjects are mathematics and social studies. At home, Felix lives with his mother, father, and his 6 of his 11 siblings! His parents are farmers, and Felix's job at home is to take care of the sheep. Here, we can see a picture of young Felix. We encourage members of our Council to write to Felix, who considers himself to be our Godson. Below, you will find information about Felix, how to write to him, letters we have written, and letters we have received. The letters received will have both the original Spanish, hand written by Felix, and the English translation.
